EMBELLISHING WITH CLAIRE KETTEMAN

Customise a Cardigan (or any other piece of knitwear ready for a new lease of life!) Embroider, embellish and enhance an old cardigan! Learn some new tricks and take away plenty of ideas to change a plain item of clothing into something individual and totally gorgeous.
Three or 4 workstations around the room will give you the opportunity to try several different techniques depending on your skill or interests, building up the embellishment and detail. These will include appliqué with a machine or bondaweb and hand sewing; machine embroidered lace using dissolving fabric; ribbons or making ribbon flower; felted flowers; crochet or knitted trims.
£27 (includes fabrics, threads, yarns, fibre, buttons & beads).
Please bring a knitted garment (it doesn’t have to be a cardigan, but cardigans have lots of scope for experimentation)! It can be a brand new, shop-bought plain item, or a an old loved garment, or something you spotted in a charity shop that you would like to transform. If you have any small scraps of ribbons, threads, buttons or lace that you would like to include please bring these along too.
You’ll go home with lots of new skills depending on which work stations you choose. Your item will be partially completed by the end of the workshop depending on level of skill and complexity of project, ready for you to complete at home with your new found skills and ideas.
